Privacy and fair use
In plain words, because nobody reads the other kind.
What we keep
The group's name and dates. Your name, your emoji and your PIN (stored scrambled, so nobody — including us — can read it). Your steps for each day, any screenshots you post, and a record of every change made to your entries. If you use the iPhone shortcut, we store the result of each sync so your admin can tell you why it isn't working. We also note the internet address a request came from, only to stop somebody spamming the app.
Who can see it
The people in your group, and nobody else. Groups are invite-only. There is no public list of groups, no search, and no way to browse other people's competitions. Screenshots are visible to everyone in your group — that is the whole point of them, so don't post one with something private in it.
What we never do
We don't sell your data, show you ads, or hand anything to anyone outside your group. We never touch money: if your group plays for a pot, the app only displays the number and you settle it among yourselves. We don't read your Health or Fit app — the shortcut you set up sends one number, your step count, and nothing else.
Getting your data out, or deleting it
Leaving a group deletes your steps and screenshots in that group. An admin deleting a group deletes everything in it for everyone. Both are immediate and can't be undone.
Fair use
Don't post other people's private information, and don't use a group to harass someone. Groups that do can be removed. The app is free and provided as is — it's a step competition between friends, not a medical or fitness service, and the numbers in it are whatever people type or sync.
